1﹑ Material Summary and Applications

316 austenitic stainless steel is heat resistant steel.

Thanks to 2 to 3% molybdenum content, it has significantly improved corrosion resistance and pitting resistance to inorganic acid, organic acid, alkali, and salts.

Good creep strength at high temperature.

This steel is suitable for large-scale boiler, superheated, reheated, steam pipes, petrochemical heat exchanger components, bolts, high temperature corrosion resistance to pitting parts. 

4﹑ Corrosion Resistance

This steel, after 430-705℃ sensitization heat treatment, appears intergranular corrosion similar to 18-8 steel.
