1﹑Material Summary and Applications

310s steel is austenitic nitric acid-resistant stainless steel. Low carbon. Good resistance to intergranular corrosion, welding without weld deterioration. Because of the high nickel content,   resistance to chloride stress corrosion better than stainless steel in general.

This steel can be used in the manufacture of furnace, boiler superheater, heat exchanger parts. Good high temperature strength, creep resistance and   corrosion resistance. It also widely used in heat treatment furnace parts, chemical processing industry and food processing industry.

4﹑Corrosion Resistance

When the HNO3≦70%,  its corrosion resistance is mainly determined by the chromium content of the steel. In higher concentrations of nitric acid, the   Cr effect is important, but other elements like (Si, P, S) are also important. In density≦80% nitric acid, its corrosion resistance is far better than 18-8（00Cr18Ni10）and high silicon stainless steel（00Cr18Ni15Si4）
